Super Bowl LI: Wild Card Previews and Predictions

With a healthy Derek Carr the Raiders are the obvious winners here. But they don’t have a healthy Derek Carr and last weeks beatdown by the Denver Broncos showed how much they really miss him. The Texans aren’t much better off offensively with Brock Osweiler starting at quarterback, but Lamar Miller will do just enough to keep the pressure off the Texans league leading defense.

Miami ran away with the win, literally, when these two teams faced off in October, led by running back Jay Ajayi’s first of three 200 yard games this season. But expect a different Pittsburgh team this week. Playing at home and fueled by Le’Veon Bell’s recent dominance, the Steelers advance to the divisional round.

Five weeks ago the Packers were sitting at 4-6 and looked lost. That’s when quarterback Aaron Rodgers flipped the switch and led his time on a 6-0 run that saw him throw 18 touchdowns to 0 interceptions. The Giants defense has been impressive this season, but their ineffective offense won’t be able to compete against Rodgers if they can’t find a run game.

Seattle hasn’t been particularly impressive this year. Their offense has been awful at times and their defense has been exposed by some more talented offenses lately. The Lions were a surprise team this year, led by once MVP candidate Matthew Stafford and his NFL record 9 comeback wins, but they’ve struggled on both sides of the ball the last couple of weeks. Russell Wilson is as good as they come in the postseason and he will lead Seattle to the divisional round.
