In 2014, Sports Illustrated predicted that the Houston Astros would win the 2017 World Series. The also decided to put Connecticut’s George Springer on the front cover.

This is crazy is because they were right. The Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 World Series.

The series went all seven games and Houston ended up winning Game 7, 5-1. George Springer, who is from New Britain and played at UConn ended up winning the World Series MVP as he hit five home runs to tie the World Series record with Reggie Jackson and Chase Utley.

How did Sports Illustrated get their prediction so perfect?
