Jeffree Star

Gianna Burti, Staff Writer

Jeffree Star is an entrepreneur and now makeup mogul who broke onto the scene in the early 2000’s. He started out small on Myspace and became the most followed person on the platform by 2006. On Myspace, he would post pictures that showed off his unique sense of fashion, makeup skills, and his own music.

By 2009, he released his first and only studio album, “Beauty Killer.” Star always wanted to pursue music further, but opted not to continue due to circumstances unknown to the public.

In 2014, he founded his own company, “Jeffree Star Cosmetics” with his life savings. Jeffree Star Cosmetics is only available on Star’s website and a couple other small online retailers, along a few Morphe stores. He says doesn’t want his products to be sold in big name makeup stores because he wants to maintain control over his own company.  Star has a variety of products available through his company, and his whole line is vegan and cruelty free and his prices are fair and true to the products. Some of these are velour liquid lipsticks, lip lipsticks, lip liners lip scrubs highlighters and eye shadows.

Personally, I own 25 of his velour liquid lipsticks, two lip scrubs, one lip ammunition, four highlighters, one eye shadow palette (and another one when it restocks soon!). His liquid lipsticks are matte and long lasting and do not dry out my lips at all. You only need one full application of them because of how pigmented they are, and they don’t flake off.

Best of all, they last all day. I think they are honestly so comfortable that i forget i’m wearing them. His lip scrubs come in many different and fun flavors and can be used to exfoliate your lips before applying any lip products.

His highlighters come in a huge pan size for a great price and are blinding when applied to the cheekbones or any other high points of the face. They come in a wide range of colors for every skin tone and glide on effortlessly on the skin. I personally only have the Beauty Killer palette and I can tell you those shade blend so effortlessly and are insanely pigmented as well.

Overall, I recommend you try Jeffree Star Cosmetics — 100 percent.
