On Tuesday April 30, Manchester High School hosted a track meet against crosstown rival East Catholic High School. It was a very exciting meet as athletes worked hard and many of them reached personal bests.

Manchester won the meet by a landslide — the boys won 112-32 and the girls 101-45. Athletes took home the win in sprinting and long distance races.

There were many standout performances from Manchester. On the boys end, junior Rexford Agyemang came first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.51. Senior Logan Moore won the 200 meter dash in 24.47, while freshman Aidan Puffer took the 800 meter dash with a personal best of 2.06.89.

For the girls, junior Jonaye Williams won the 100 meter dash with a 13.10 and gained the victory in the 200 meter dash with a 26.82.

Andrew Suhie, Gio Martinez, Esai Vazquez-Marentes and Yankarlos Diaz demolished East Catholic in the 4×800 race as well. The Manchester girls relay team of Kate Hedlund, Zariah Chiverton, Jonaye Williams, and Corinne Glenney won the 4×400 with a 4.23.01.
